ORDINANCE NO. 2026-76 <br />AN ORDINANCE TO APPROPRIATE $40,000 OF INMATE CANTEEN <br />ACCOUNT REVENUE IN THE FY 2027 GENERAL FUND OPERATING <br />BUDGET FOR USE BY THE SHERIFF'S OFFICE. <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br />1. That it hereby appropriates the sum of $40,000 in the FY 2027 General <br />Fund Operating Budget. <br />2. That the appropriation shall be used to fund expenses of the Sheriff's <br />Office. <br />3. That the source of the appropriation shall be Inmate Canteen Account <br />commission revenue collected by the Sheriffs Office. <br />4. That estimated revenues and expenditures in the FY 2027 General Fund <br />Operating Budget are increased by $40,000. <br />5. That this ordinance shall take effect on the date of adoption. <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia at a meeting held <br />on July 28, 2026. <br />Teste: <br />City Clerk <br />
