R-26-03 <br />A RESOLUTION TO ADOPT THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH 2026-2030 STRATEGIC <br />PILLARS. <br />WHEREAS, City Council and City Management have worked to develop a strategic <br />direction for the City of Portsmouth; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Portsmouth 2026-2030 Strategic Pillars consist of five main <br />strategies: <br />• "Get Stuff Done" (major initiatives); <br />• Financial & Operational Excellence; <br />• Economic Growth & Citywide Revitalization; <br />• Safe, Connected, and Thriving Community; and <br />• Education, Workforce & Partnerships for the Future; and <br />WHEREAS, the Strategic Pillars include, for each Pillar: <br />• The Tone with the Pillar will be pursued; <br />• Specific Short Term, Medium -Term, and Long -Term goals to be achieved <br />as part of the Pillar; and <br />• Overall Outcomes to be achieved; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council desires to formally adopt the Strategic Pillars to ensure <br />commitment and follow-through; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia, that the City of Portsmouth 2026-2030 Strategic Pillars are hereby adopted in the form <br />attached as Exhibit A. <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, at a meeting held on <br />January 27, 2026. <br />Teste: <br />City Clerk <br />
