ORDINANCE NO. 2025-10 <br />AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING PROBLEM GAMBLING PREVENTION <br />FUNDING IN THE AMOUNT OF $25,280 FROM THE VIRGINIA <br />DEPARTMENT OF BEHAVIORAL HEALTH AND DEVELOPMENTAL <br />SERVICES AND APPROPRIATING SAID AMOUNT IN THE FY 2025 <br />BEHAVIORAL HEALTHCARE SERVICE FUND FOR USE BY BHS TO <br />PROVIDE SERVICES DESIGNED TO ADDRESS PROBLEM GAMBLING. <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br />1. That it hereby accepts Problem Gambling Prevention funding in the <br />amount of $25,280 from the Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and <br />Developmental Services and appropriates said amount in the FY 2025 Behavioral <br />Healthcare Service Fund. <br />2. That the funds shall be used by the Department of Behavioral Healthcare <br />Services to fund problem gambling prevention services. <br />3. That, to the extent not expended, the funds shall be deemed reappropriated <br />into the Behavioral Healthcare Service Fund budget annually until expended in their <br />entirety. <br />4. That no local match is required as a condition of receiving the funds at this <br />time. <br />5. That estimated revenues and expenditures in the FY 2025 Behavioral <br />Healthcare Service Fund Budget are increased by $25,280. <br />6. That this ordinance shall take effect on the date of its adoption. <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia at a meeting held <br />on February 11, 2025. <br />Teste: <br />City Clerk <br />
