ORDINANCE NO. 2025-87 <br />AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING RESCUE SQUAD ASSISTANCE GRANTS <br />PROGRAM FUNDS IN THE AMOUNT OF $180,000 FROM THE OFFICE OF <br />EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES AND APPROPRIATING SAID AMOUNT <br />IN THE FY 2026 GRANTS FUND FOR USE BY THE DEPARTMENT OF FIRE, <br />RESCUE AND EMERGENCY SERVICES. <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br />1. That it hereby accepts Rescue Squad Assistance Grants Program funds in <br />the amount of $180,000 from the Office of Emergency Medical Services and appropriates <br />said amount in the FY 2026 Grants Fund Budget. <br />2. That the funds shall be used by the Department of Fire, Rescue and <br />Emergency Services to acquire one Medic Unit for the PFRES fleet service. <br />3. That a local match in the amount of $180,000 is required as a condition of <br />the funding, which matching funds have previously been appropriated in the FY 2026 <br />General Fund Budget. <br />4. That estimated revenues and expenditures in the FY 2026 Grants Fund <br />Budget are increased by $180,000. <br />5. That this ordinance shall take effect on the date of its adoption. <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia at a meeting held <br />on October 28, 2025. <br />Teste: <br />City Clerk <br />
