ORDINANCE NO. 2025-73 <br />AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING A GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF $564,882 <br />FROM THE VIRGINIA DEPARTMENT OF CRIMINAL JUSTICE SERVICES <br />AND APPROPRIATING SAID SUM IN THE FY 2026 GRANTS FUND FOR USE <br />BY THE COMMONWEALTH'S ATTORNEY'S OFFICE FOR THE VICTIM <br />WITNESS PROGRAM. <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br />1. That it hereby accepts a grant in the amount of $564,882 from the Virginia <br />Department of Criminal Justice Services and appropriates said sum in the FY 2026 <br />Grants Fund. <br />2. That the funds shall be used by the Commonwealth's Attorney's Office <br />for the Victim Witness Program. <br />3. That no local match is required for the funds. <br />4. That estimated revenues and expenditures in the FY 2026 Grants Fund <br />Budget are increased by $564,882. <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia at a meeting held <br />on September 9, 2025. <br />Teste: <br />City Clerk <br />
