ORDINANCE NO. 2025-49 <br />AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING HAZMAT RESPONSE COST RECOVERY <br />FUNDING IN THE AMOUNT OF $9,234.99 FROM THE VIRGINIA <br />DEPARTMENT OF EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AND APPROPRIATING <br />SAID AMOUNT IN THE FY 2026 GRANTS FUND FOR THE PURPOSE OF <br />MAINTAINING HAZARDOUS MATERIALS TEAM RESPONSE <br />CAPABILITIES. <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br />1. That it hereby accepts funding in the amount of $9,234.99 from the <br />Virginia Department of Emergency Management and appropriates said amount in the FY <br />2026 Grants Fund. <br />2. That the funds shall be used by the Department of Fire, Rescue and <br />Emergency Services for the purpose of maintaining Hazardous Materials Team response <br />capabilities. <br />3. That the funds are a reimbursement, and no local match is required as a <br />condition of receiving the funds. <br />4. That estimated revenues and expenditures in the FY 2026 Grants Fund <br />Budget are increased by $9,234.99. <br />5. That this ordinance shall take effect on the date of its adoption. <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia at a meeting held <br />on July 8, 2025. <br />Teste: <br />City Clerk <br />
