ORDINANCE NO. 2024-121 <br />AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING FOSTERING FUTURES IV -E FOSTER CARE <br />FUNDS IN THE AMOUNT OF $48,000 FROM THE VIRGINIA DEPARTMENT <br />OF SOCIAL SERVICES AND APPROPRIATING SAID AMOUNT IN THE FY <br />2025 SOCIAL SERVICES FUND BUDGET FOR USE BY DSS TO PROVIDE <br />FOSTER CARE ASSISTANCE FOR YOUTHS BETWEEN THE AGES OF 18 TO <br />21. <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br />1. That it hereby accepts Fostering Futures IV -E Foster Care Funds in the <br />amount of $48,000 from the Virginia Department of Social Services and appropriates <br />said amount in the FY 2025 Social Services Fund Budget. <br />2. That the appropriation shall be used by the Department of Social Services <br />to provide foster care assistance for youths between the ages of 18 to 21. <br />3. That no local match is required as a condition of the funding. <br />4. That estimated revenues and expenditures in the FY 2025 Social Services <br />Fund Budget are increased by $48,000. <br />5. That this ordinance shall take effect on the date of its adoption. <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia at a meeting held <br />on November 12, 2024. <br />Teste: <br />City Clerk <br />
