ORDINANCE NO. 2024-82 <br />AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING STATE AID IN THE AMOUNT OF $37,457 <br />PROVIDED BY THE COMMONWEALTH OF VIRGINIA AS A RESULT OF <br />THE LIBRARY OF VIRGINIA'S REVISED CALCULATION OF FUNDING <br />BASED ON THE COMMONWEALTH'S FINAL ADOPTED BUDGET AND <br />APPROPRIATING SAID AMOUNT TO THE FY 2025 GENERAL FUND <br />BUDGET FOR USE BY THE PORTSMOUTH PUBLIC LIBRARY. <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br />1. That it hereby accepts State Aid in the amount of $37,457 provided by the <br />Commonwealth of Virginia as a result of the Library of Virginia's revised calculation of <br />funding based on the Commonwealth's final adopted budget and appropriates said <br />amount in the FY 2025 General Fund Budget. <br />2. That the funds shall be used by the Portsmouth Public Library. <br />3. That no local match is required as a condition of the funding. <br />4. That estimated revenues and expenditures in the Library category of the <br />FY 2025 General Fund Budget are increased by $37,457. <br />5. That this ordinance shall take effect on the date of its adoption. <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia at a meeting held <br />on September 10, 2024. <br />Teste: <br />City Clerk <br />
