ORDINANCE NO. 2024-72 <br />AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING ADDITIONAL IV -E FOSTER CARE FUNDING <br />IN THE AMOUNT OF $53,250 FROM THE VIRGINIA DEPARTMENT OF <br />SOCIAL SERVICES AND APPROPRIATING SAID AMOUNT IN THE FY 2025 <br />SOCIAL SERVICES FUND FOR FOSTER CARE ASSISTANCE. <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br />1. That it hereby accepts additional IV -E Foster Care funding in the amount <br />of $53,250 from the Virginia Department of Social Services and appropriates said <br />amount in the FY 2025 Social Services Fund Budget. <br />2. That the funds shall be used by the Department of Social Services for <br />foster care assistance. <br />3. That, to the extent not expended, the funds shall be deemed reappropriated <br />into the Social Services Fund Budget annually until expended by the City or withdrawn <br />by the granting entity. <br />4. That no local match is required as a condition of the funding. <br />5. That estimated revenues and expenditures in the FY 2025 Social Services <br />Fund Budget are increased by $53,250. <br />6. That this ordinance shall take effect on the date of its adoption. <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia at a meeting held <br />on August 13, 2024. <br />Teste: <br />City Clerk <br />
