ORDINANCE NO.2024-67 <br />AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING MARCUS ALERT PROGRAM FUNDING IN <br />THE AMOUNT OF $600,000 FROM THE VIRGINIA DEPARTMENT OF <br />BEHAVIORAL HEALTH AND DEVELOPMENTAL SERVICES AND <br />APPROPRIATING SAID FUNDS IN THE FY 2025 BEHAVIORAL <br />HEALTHCARE SERVICE FUND TO SUPPORT THE PLANNING AND <br />IMPLEMENTATION OF THE MARCUS ALERT SYSTEM. <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br />1. That it hereby accepts Marcus Alert Program funding in the amount of <br />$600,000 from the Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental <br />Services and appropriates said amount in the FY 2025 Behavioral Healthcare Service <br />Fund. <br />2. That the funds shall be used by the Department of Behavioral Healthcare <br />Services to support the planning and implementation of the Marcus Alert System. <br />3. That, to the extent not expended, the funds shall be deemed reappropriated <br />into the Behavioral Healthcare Service Fund budget annually until expended by the City <br />or withdrawn by the granting entity. <br />4. That no additional local match is required as a condition of the funding. <br />5. That estimated revenues and expenditures in the FY 2025 Behavioral <br />Healthcare Service Fund Budget are increased by $600,000. <br />6. That this ordinance shall take effect on the date of its adoption. <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia at a meeting held <br />on July 23, 2024. <br />Teste: <br />City Clerk <br />
