notify the adjoining property owners of the site by registered or <br />certified letter sent to their last known address of a request for a <br />family day home in accordance with Code of Virginia § 15.2- <br />2292. <br />a. If the Zoning Administrator receives no written objection <br />from a person so notified within thirty (30) days of the date <br />of sending the letter, the Zoning Administrator may issue the <br />Zoning Permit sought. <br />b. Where written objection is received from a person so notified <br />within the thirty (30) daytime period, the Zoning Permit shall <br />be denied. <br />c. If denied, the applicant may submit a Use Permit application <br />in accordance with Sec. 40.2 -533. <br />11. Subsection 40.2- 217(D)(1) of the City Code is amended by inserting a new <br />subsection (b) and changing the subsection letters of the subsequent provisions as <br />follows. <br />Sec. 40.2 -217. Use - Specific Standards. <br />(D) Residential Uses. <br />(1) Household Living. <br />(b) Dwelling, Two- Family. In addition to general requirements, two - <br />family dwellings shall comply with the following standards: <br />(i) The principal entrance of at least one unit shall face the street <br />from which the dwelling derives its street address. <br />(ii) A two - family dwelling shall be served by no more than two (2) <br />driveways on the same block face, which may be less than 75 <br />feet apart. <br />(iii) Ground - based, roof - based, and wall- mounted electrical <br />equipment, HVAC equipment and other utility connection <br />devices shall be ganged and shall be screened or located <br />outside the view from any adjacent public right -of -way. <br />(iv) All building facades shall maintain at least ten (10) percent of <br />the fagade area as windows and/or doors. <br />(c) Dwelling, Three- to Four - Family... . <br />(d) Dwelling, Townhouse.... <br />(e) Dwelling, Multi - Family.... <br />(f) Boarding House.... <br />
