AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING AID -TO -LOCALITIES FUNDING IN THE <br />AMOUNT OF $440,858 FROM THE VIRGINIA DEPARTMENT OF FIRE <br />PROGRAMS AND APPROPRIATING SAID AMOUNT TO THE FY 2024 <br />GRANTS FUND FOR USE BY THE DEPARTMENT OF FIRE, RESCUE AND <br />EMERGENCY SERVICES FOR TRAINING, EQUIPMENT, COMMUNITY <br />PROGRAMS, AND OTHER ELIGIBLE USES. <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br />1. That it hereby accepts Aid -To -Localities funding in the amount of <br />$440,858 from the Virginia Department of Fire Programs and appropriates said amount <br />to the FY 2024 Grants Fund. <br />2. That the funds shall be used by the Department of Fire, Rescue and <br />Emergency Services for training, equipment, community programs, and other eligible <br />uses. <br />3. That no local match is required as a condition of the grant. <br />4. That estimated revenues and expenditures in the FY 2024 Grants Fund <br />Budget are increased by $440,858. <br />5. That this ordinance shall take effect on the date of its adoption. <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia at a meeting held <br />on October 10, 2023. <br />Teste: <br />City Clerk <br />
