20 -57 <br />AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING SUBSTANCE USE DISORDER STATE AND <br />LOCAL RECOVERY WORKFORCE INITIATIVE FUNDING IN THE AMOUNT <br />OF $37,500 FROM THE VIRGINIA DEPARTMENT OF BEHAVIORAL <br />HEALTH AND DEVELOPMENTAL SERVICES AND APPROPRIATING SAID <br />AMOUNT IN THE FY 2023 BHS FUND FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROVIDING <br />HIRING, RETENTION INCENTIVES, AND TRAINING FOR BHS STAFF. <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br />1. That it hereby accepts Substance Use Disorder State and Local Recovery <br />Workforce Initiative funding in the amount of $37,500 from the Virginia Department of <br />Behavioral Health and Developmental Services and appropriates said amount in the FY <br />2023 Behavioral Healthcare Service Fund. <br />2. That the funds shall be used by the Department of Behavioral Healthcare <br />Services for eligible uses, including staff retention, hiring incentives, and staff <br />professional development. <br />3. That no local match is required as a condition of receiving the funds <br />except as may be provided in the Community Services Performance Contract with the <br />Commonwealth approved by City Council Resolution R -21 -22 adopted on August 10, <br />2021. Any required local match has previously been appropriated as part of the FY 2023 <br />Behavioral Healthcare Service Fund Budget. <br />4. That estimated revenues and expenditures in the FY 2023 Behavioral <br />Healthcare Service Fund Budget are increased by $37,500. <br />That this ordinance shall take effect on the date of its adoption. <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia at a meeting held <br />on July 26, 2022. <br />Teste: <br />City Clerk <br />
