�. 2022-53 <br />AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING A SHELTER PLUS CARE, GRANT IN THE <br />AMOUNT OF $569,041 FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN <br />DEVELOPMENT AND APPROPRIATING SAID FUNDS IN THE FY 2023 <br />GRANTS FUND FOR USE BY THE DEPARTMENT OF BEHAVIORAL <br />HEALTHCARE SERVICES TO PROVIDE SUPPORTIVE SERVICES TO <br />CHRONICALLY HOMELESS AND AT RISK PORTSMOUTH RESIDENTS. <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br />1. That it hereby accepts a Shelter Plus Care grant (Youth Homeless <br />Demonstration Program) in the amount of $569,041 from the Department of Housing and <br />Urban Development and appropriates said funds in the FY 2023 Grants Fund. <br />2. That the funds shall be used by the Department of Behavioral Healthcare <br />Services to provide behavioral health and supportive services to chronically homeless and <br />Lit risk individuals and families who have severe mental illness, chronic substance use <br />disorders, intellectual disabilities, developmental disabilities, and /or HIV /AIDS, and are <br />in need of supportive housing or related assistance. <br />That no local match is required as a condition of the grant. <br />4. That estimated revenues and expenditures in the FY 2023 Grants Fund are <br />increased by $569,041. <br />5. That this ordinance shall take effect on the date of its adoption. <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia at a meeting held <br />on July 12, 2022. <br />Teste: <br />City Clerk <br />
