t f , <br />29 <br />AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND DIVISION 1 OF ARTICLE III OF CHAPTER 7 <br />OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, VIRGINIA (BUILDING <br />CODE; GENERALLY) BY DELETING SUBSECTION 7- 103(D), AND TO <br />AMEND APPENDIX A OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, <br />VIRGINIA BY DELETING THE CORRESPONDING FEE, FOR THE PURPOSE <br />OF ELIMINATING THE COMMERCIAL REINSPECTION REQUIREMENT. <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br />1. That Division I of Article III of Chapter 7 of the Code of the City of <br />Portsmouth, Virginia is amended by deleting subsection 7- 103(d) as shown below: <br />Sec. 7 -103. Fee for certificate of occupancy and commercial reinspection. <br />(a) The fee for a certificate of occupancy required by the building code for an <br />existing structure shall be as set forth in appendix A to this Code. When a certificate <br />of occupancy is issued pursuant to the satisfactory completion of final inspections <br />pursuant to a building permit issued. no fee shall be required for the certificate of <br />occupancy. <br />(b) The fee for a temporary certificate of occupancy issued by the building <br />official before the completion of the work covered by a permit shall be as set forth in <br />appendix A to this Code. <br />(c) The fee for the first renewal of a temporary certificate of occupancy shall <br />be as set forth in appendix A to this Code.
