2022 -99 <br />AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING AN EDWARD BYRNE MEMORIAL JUSTICE <br />ASSISTANCE GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF $111,232 FROM THE U.S. <br />DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE AND APPROPRIATING SAID FUNDS IN THE FY <br />2023 GRANTS FUND FOR USE BY THE PORTSMOUTH POLICE <br />DEPARTMENT. <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br />1. That it hereby accepts an Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance <br />Grant in the amount of $111,232 from the U.S. Department of Justice and appropriates <br />said funds in the FY 2023 Grants Fund. <br />2. That the funds shall be used by the Portsmouth Police Department to fund <br />officer safety equipment, technology and training initiatives, Drug Court treatment <br />program supplies, and other uses authorized by the terms of the grant. <br />3. That no local match is required as a condition of the grant. <br />4. That estimated revenues and expenditures in the FY 2023 Grants Fund are <br />increased by $111,232. <br />5. That this ordinance shall take effect on the date of its adoption. <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia at a meeting held <br />on November 22, 2022. <br />Teste: <br />City Clerk <br />
