N- vw��-97 <br />AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING VIRGINIA TREES FOR CLEAN WATER <br />GRANT FUNDS IN THE AMOUNT OF $4,634.35 FROM THE VIRGINIA <br />DEPARTMENT OF FORESTRY AND APPROPRIATING SAID AMOUNT INTO <br />THE FY 2023 GRANTS FUND FOR USE BY THE DEPARTMENT OF PARKS & <br />RECREATION TO PLANT TREES AT CITY PARK AND CHURCHLAND PARK. <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br />1. That it hereby accepts Virginia Trees for Clean Water grant funds in the <br />amount of $4,634.35 from the Virginia Department of Forestry and appropriates said <br />amount into the FY 2023 Grants Fund. <br />2. That the funds shall be used by the Department of Parks & Recreation to <br />plant trees at City Park and Churchland Park. <br />3. That a local in -kind match in the amount of $2,500 is required as a condition <br />of the grant funds, which match will be satisfied through the labor of City staff to plant and <br />maintain the trees. <br />4. That estimated revenues and expenditures in the FY 2023 Grants Fund <br />Budget are increased by $4,634.35. <br />5. That this ordinance shall take effect on the date of its adoption. <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia at a meeting held <br />on November 22, 2022. <br />Teste: <br />City Clerk <br />
