ZQ -75 <br />w m <br />AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND AND REORDAIN ARTICLE X OF CHAPTER 35 <br />OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, VIRGINIA (2006) <br />(TRANSIENT RENTAL TAX) BY AMENDING SECTIONS 35 -441, 35 -442, AND <br />35 -443 FOR THE PURPOSE OF COMPLYING WITH AMENDMENTS TO THE <br />STATE CODE REGARDING THE COLLECTION OF THE TRANSIENT <br />RENTAL TAX BY INTERMEDIARIES. <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br />1. That Article X of Chapter 35 of the Code of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia <br />(2006) is amended and reordained by amending Sections 35 -441, 35 -442, and 35 -443 as <br />shown on Exhibit A hereto. <br />2. That the purpose of the amendments is to comply with amendments to the <br />Virginia Code regarding the collection of transient rental (lodging) tax by intermediaries. <br />That Article X of Chapter 35 is not amended except as set forth on Exhibit <br />A hereto. <br />4. That this ordinance shall take effect on the date of adoption. <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, at a meeting held <br />on September 13, 2022. <br />Teste: <br />City Clerk <br />
