• Support implementation of the provisions of Virginia Code Sections 18.2- <br />325 and 18.2 -334.5 making `gray machines' illegal <br />o `Gray machines' are essentially slot machines that are located <br />outside the confines of a casino gaming establishment or a facility <br />with licensed historical racing terminals <br />o During the 2020 General Assembly session, House Bill 881 <br />amended Section 18.2 -325 of the Virginia Code and established a <br />new Section 18.2 -334.5 for the purpose of making gray machines <br />illegal. In April of 2020, HB 881 was amended to delay its effect <br />until July 1, 2021 <br />o The City supports maintaining the current effective date of July 1, <br />2021 and opposes any measure to further delay implementation of <br />this Act. The existence of gray machines undermines the social <br />and economic purposes of the structure created to authorize and <br />regulate casino gaming <br />
