'020 -97 <br />AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING A PROJECT SAFE NEIGHBORHOODS <br />GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF $27,000 FROM THE VIRGINIA ASSOCIATION <br />OF CHIEFS OF POLICE AND APPROPRIATING SAID FUNDS INTO THE FY <br />2021 GRANTS FUND FOR USE BY THE PORTSMOUTH POLICE <br />DEPARTMENT. <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br />1. That it hereby accepts a grant in the amount of $27,000 from the Virginia <br />Association of Chiefs of Police and appropriates said funds in the FY 2021 Grants Fund. <br />2. That the grant will be used by the Portsmouth Police Department for the <br />Gang Resistance Education and Training Program and for other initiatives to combat <br />gang violence. <br />3. That no local match is required as a condition of receiving the grant. <br />4. That estimated revenues and expenditures in the FY 2021 Grants Fund are <br />increased by $27,000. <br />5. That this ordinance shall take effect on the date of its adoption. <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia at an electronic <br />meeting held on September 22, 2020. <br />Teste: <br />City Clerk <br />
