ADINANCE ND 2020 -.5g <br />AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING RENT AND MORTGAGE RELIEF PROGRAM <br />FUNDS IN THE AMOUNT OF $450,000 FROM THE VIRGINIA DEPARTMENT <br />OF HOUSING AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT AND APPROPRIATING <br />SAID FUNDS TO THE FY 2020 GRANTS FUND FOR USE BY THE <br />DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL SERVICES TO PROVIDE RENT AND <br />MORTGAGE RELIEF PAYMENTS. <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br />1. That it accepts Rent and Mortgage Relief Program funds in the amount of <br />$450,000 from the Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development and <br />appropriates said funds to the FY 2020 Grants Fund. <br />2. That the funds shall be used by the Department of Social Services to <br />provide rent and mortgage relief payments. 17 <br />3. That no local match is required as a condition of the funding. <br />4. That estimated revenues and expenditures in the FY 2020 Grants Fund are <br />increased by $450,000. <br />5. That this ordinance shall take effect on the date of its adoption. <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia at a meeting held <br />on June 23, 2020. <br />Teste: <br />City Clerk <br />
