2019 -35 <br />AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING SUPPLEMENTAL FUNDS FROM THE <br />VIRGINIA DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL SERVICES IN THE AMOUNT OF <br />$11,500 FOR THE TITLE IV -E FOSTERING FUTURES FOSTER CARE <br />PROGRAM, $153,366 FOR FEDERAL ADOPTION ASSISTANCE, AND $114,452 <br />FOR STATE ADOPTION SUBSIDY AND SPECIAL SERVICE PAYMENTS, <br />AND APPROPRIATING SAID FUNDS IN THE FY 2019 SOCIAL SERVICES <br />FUND. <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br />1. That it hereby accepts supplemental funds from the Virginia Department <br />of Social Services in the amount of $11,500 for the Title IV -E Fostering Futures Foster <br />Care Program, $153,366 for Federal Adoption Assistance, and $114,452 for State <br />Adoption Subsidy and Special Service Payments and appropriates said funds in the FY <br />2019 Social Services Fund. <br />2. That the funds shall be used by the Department of Social Services for <br />foster care and adoption assistance programs. <br />3. That no local match is required for the funds. <br />4. That estimated revenues and expenditures in the FY 2019 Social Services <br />Fund Budget are increased by $279,318. <br />5. That this ordinance shall take effect on the date of its adoption. <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia at a meeting held <br />on May 28, 2019. <br />Teste: <br />City Clerk <br />
