MIRA 2019 -103 <br />AN ORDINANCE TRANSFERRING THE SUM OF $57,992 FROM THE <br />SALARY LINE ITEM OF THE DEPARTMENT OF FIRE, RESCUE AND <br />EMERGENCY SERVICES SECTION OF THE FY 2020 GENERAL FUND <br />BUDGET TO THE FY 2020 GRANTS FUND TO SERVE AS THE REQUIRED <br />LOCAL MATCH FOR A LOCAL EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT PROGRAM <br />GRANT. <br />WHEREAS, the Department of Fire, Rescue and Emergency Services was <br />awarded $57,992 in Local Emergency Management Program Grant funds by the Virginia <br />Department of Emergency Management (the - Grant "), and <br />WHEREAS, by Ordinance 2019 -86 adopted on October 22, 2019 City Council <br />accepted the Grant and appropriated the funding to the Grants Fund; and <br />WHEREAS, the Grant requires a dollar for dollar local match. and <br />WHEREAS, the local match requirement of $57,992 will be met through funds <br />previously appropriated to the Salary line item of the Department of Fire, Rescue and <br />Emergency Services section of the FY 2020 General Fund Budget: <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of <br />Portsmouth, Virginia: <br />1. That it reduces the Salary line item of the Department of Fire, Rescue and <br />Emergency Services section of the FY 2020 General Fund budget by 557,992 and <br />increases the FY 2020 Transfers to Grants Fund line item of the FY 2020 General Fund <br />budget by $57,992. <br />2. That the funds so transferred to the Grants Fund shall be used to satisfy the <br />required local match for the Local Emergency Management Program Grant accepted and <br />appropriated by Ordinance 2019 -86. <br />3. That revenues and expenditures in the FY 2020 Grants Fund budget are <br />increased by $57,992. <br />4. That this ordinance shall take effect on the date of its adoption. <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia at a meeting held <br />on December 10, 2019. <br />Teste: <br />City Clerk <br />
