ORUINM W42019-78 <br />AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING AN EDWARD BYRNE MEMORIAL JUSTICE <br />ASSISTANCE GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF $85,764 FROM THE U.S. <br />DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE AND APPROPRIATING SAID FUNDS IN THE FY <br />2020 GRANTS FUND FOR USE BY THE PORTSMOUTH POLICE <br />DEPARTMENT TO FUND LAW ENFORCEMENT TRAUMA TRAINING AND <br />OTHER AUTHORIZED USES. <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br />1. That it hereby accepts an Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance <br />Grant in the amount of $85,764 from the U.S. Department of Justice and appropriates <br />said funds in the FY 2020 Grants Fund. <br />2. That the funds shall be used by the Portsmouth Police Department to fund <br />Law Enforcement Trauma Training and other uses authorized by the terms of the grant. <br />3. That no local match is required as a condition of the grant. <br />4. That estimated revenues and expenditures in the FY 2020 Grants Fund are <br />increased by $85,764. <br />5. That this ordinance shall take effect on the date of its adoption. <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia at a meeting held <br />on October 22, 2019. <br />Teste: <br />City Clerk <br />
