2019 -68 <br />AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING AN OPIOID TREATMENT AND RECOVERY <br />GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF $400,000 FROM THE VIRGINIA DEPARTMENT <br />OF BEHAVIORAL HEALTH AND DEVELOPMENTAL SERVICES AND <br />APPROPRIATING SAID FUNDS IN THE FY 2020 BEHAVIORAL <br />HEALTHCARE SERVICES FUND FOR USE BY THE DEPARTMENT OF BHS <br />TO PROVIDE OPIOID ABUSE PREVENTION, TREATMENT AND <br />RECOVERY SERVICES. <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br />1. That it hereby accepts an Opioid Treatment and Recovery grant in the <br />amount of $400,000 from the Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and <br />Developmental Services and appropriates said funds in the FY 2020 Behavioral <br />Healthcare Services Fund. <br />2. That the funds shall be used by the Department of Behavioral Healthcare <br />Services to fund medication assisted treatment and other opioid prevention, treatment and <br />recovery services. <br />3. That no local match is required as a condition of the funding. <br />4. That estimated revenues and expenditures in the FY 2020 Behavioral <br />Healthcare Services Fund are increased by $400,000. <br />5. That this ordinance shall take effect on the date of its adoption. <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia at a meeting held <br />on September 24, 2019. <br />Teste: <br />City Clerk <br />
