MDiNANCI 2019 -57 <br />AN ORDINANCE (1) ACCEPTING A PORT SECURITY GRANT IN THE <br />AMOUNT OF $158,625 FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND <br />SECURITY /FEDERAL EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AGENCY AND <br />APPROPRIATING SAID AMOUNT IN THE FY 2020 GRANTS FUND FOR USE <br />BY THE PORTSMOUTH POLICE DEPARTMENT; AND (2) APPROPRIATING <br />AND TRANSFERRING $52,875 FROM THE ASSET FORFEITURE SPECIAL <br />REVENUE FUND TO THE FY 2020 GRANTS FUND TO SERVE AS THE <br />REQUIRED LOCAL MATCH FOR THE SAID GRANT. <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br />1. That it hereby accepts a Port Security Grant in the amount of $158,625 <br />from the Department of Homeland Security /Federal Emergency Management Agency <br />and appropriates said amount in the FY 2020 Grants Fund for use by the Portsmouth <br />Police Department for maritime security. <br />2. That it hereby appropriates and transfers $52,875 from the Asset <br />Forfeiture Fund to the FY 2020 Grants Fund to serve as the required local match for the <br />Port Security Grant. <br />3. That a 25% local match of the total project cost is required as a condition <br />of the Port Security Grant, which match will be satisfied by the Asset Forfeiture Funds <br />appropriated by this ordinance. <br />4. That estimated revenues and expenditures in the FY 2020 Grants Fund are <br />increased by $211,500. <br />5. That the balance in the Asset Forfeiture Fund is decreased by $52,875. <br />6. That this ordinance shall take effect on the date of its adoption. <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia at a meeting held <br />on August 27, 2019. <br />Teste: <br />City Clerk <br />
