g 2018 -17 <br />AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING AID -TO- LOCALITIES FUNDING RECEIVED <br />DURING FY 2015 FROM THE VIRGINIA DEPARTMENT OF FIRE <br />PROGRAMS IN THE AMOUNT OF $15,748 AND APPROPRIATING SAID <br />FUNDS IN THE GRANTS FUND FOR USE BY THE DEPARTMENT OF FIRE, <br />RESCUE AND EMERGENCY SERVICES TO SUPPORT FIRE AND <br />EMERGENCY SERVICES IN THE CITY. <br />WHEREAS, during FY 2015 the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia <br />adopted Ordinance 2014 -78, which accepted and appropriated the estimated amount of <br />$286,920 in Aid -to- Localities funding from the Virginia Department of Fire Programs for <br />use by the Department of Fire, Rescue and Emergency Services to support fire and <br />emergency services in the City; and <br />WHEREAS, the actual allocation of Aid -to- Localities funding from the Virginia <br />Department of Fire Programs to the City during FY 2015 was $302,668, a difference of <br />$15,748; and <br />WHEREAS, through an oversight the additional $15,748 was never appropriated <br />by City Council; <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of <br />Portsmouth, Virginia: <br />1. That it hereby accepts Aid -to- Localities funding in the amount of $15,748 <br />received from the Virginia Department of Fire Programs during FY 2015 and <br />appropriates said funds in the Grants Fund. <br />2. That the funds shall be used by the Department of Fire, Rescue and <br />Emergency Services to support fire and emergency services in the City. <br />3. That no local match is required as a condition of the grant. <br />4. That estimated revenues and expenditures in the Grants Fund are increased <br />by $15,748. <br />5. That this ordinance shall take effect on the date of its adoption. <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia at a meeting held <br />on March 13, 2018. <br />Teste: <br />City Clerk <br />
