WNW 616--101&-1 13 <br />AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING A GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF $10,650 FROM <br />THE VIRGINIA DEPARTMENT OF MOTOR VEHICLES AND <br />APPROPRIATING SAID FUNDS IN THE FY 2018 GRANTS FUND FOR USE BY <br />THE PORTSMOUTH POLICE DEPARTMENT TO PURCHASE SPEED <br />MEASUREMENT DEVICES. <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br />1. That it hereby accepts a grant in the amount of $10,650 and appropriates <br />said funds in the FY 2018 Grants Fund. <br />2. That the funds shall be used by the Portsmouth Police Department to <br />purchase speed measurement devices to be utilized at check points and during saturation <br />patrols throughout the city. <br />3. That an in kind local match of $5,325 is required as a condition of the <br />grant, which match will be satisfied by previously budgeted vehicle fuel and maintenance <br />expenditures and does not require any additional appropriation. <br />4. That estimated revenues and expenditures in the FY 2018 Grants Fund are <br />increased by $10,650. <br />5. That this ordinance shall take effect on the date of its adoption. <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia at a meeting held <br />on February 27, 2018. <br />Teste: <br />City Clerk <br />
