ORDINANCE NL2= <br />AN ORDINANCE FORMALLY CHANGING THE NAME OF VOTING <br />PRECINCT 14 TO "BRIGHTON ELEMENTARY SCHOOL ". <br />WHEREAS, by Ordinance 2018 -08 adopted on January 23, 2018 City Council <br />amended Section 10 -99 of the Code of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia (2006) to change <br />the voting location for Precinct No. 14 to Brighton Elementary School; and <br />WHEREAS, the Virginia Department of Elections has requested that City <br />Council also adopt an ordinance formally changing the name of Precinct 14 to "Brighton <br />Elementary School "; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of <br />Portsmouth, Virginia: <br />1. . That the name of Precinct 14 is hereby changed to "Brighton Elementary <br />School " <br />2. That this ordinance shall take effect immediately on the date of its <br />adoption. <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, at a meeting held <br />on February 13, 2018. <br />Teste: <br />City Clerk <br />
