J%U 018 -120 <br />AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $1,820,000 FROM THE GENERAL FUND — <br />UNASSIGNED FUND BALANCE FOR THE PURPOSE OF ACQUIRING 206 <br />HIGH STREET. <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br />1. That it appropriates the sum of $1,820,000 from the General Fund — <br />Unassigned Fund Balance for the purpose of acquiring 206 High Street (including purchase <br />price and closing costs). <br />2. That the City Manager and /or City Attorney are authorized to execute a <br />Purchase Agreement to acquire the property and such other documents and instruments as <br />are necessary or desirable to close on acquisition of the property and effectuate the intent <br />of this Resolution, and that the City Manager and /or City Attorney and their designees are <br />authorized to take such further actions as may be necessary or desirable to effectuate the <br />intent of this Resolution. <br />3. That this ordinance shall take effect on the date of its adoption. <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia at a meeting held <br />on December 11, 2018. <br />Teste: <br />City Clerk <br />
