ORUIN 2. <br />AN ORDINANCE (1) ACCEPTING A PORT SECURITY GRANT IN THE <br />AMOUNT OF $167,295 FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND <br />SECURITY/FEDERAL EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AGENCY AND <br />APPROPRIATING SAID AMOUNT IN THE FY 2019 GRANTS FUND FOR USE <br />BY THE PORTSMOUTH POLICE DEPARTMENT; AND (2) APPROPRIATING <br />$55,765 FROM THE ASSET FORFEITURE FUND TO THE FY 2019 GRANTS <br />FUND TO SERVE AS THE REQUIRED LOCAL MATCH FOR THE SAID PORT <br />SECURITY GRANT. <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br />1. That it hereby accepts a Port Security Grant in the amount of $167,295 <br />from the Department of Homeland Security /Federal Emergency Management Agency <br />and appropriates said amount in the FY 2019 Grants Fund for use by the Portsmouth <br />Police Department. <br />2. That it hereby appropriates $55,765 from the Asset Forfeiture Fund to the <br />FY 2019 Grants Fund to serve as the required local match for the Port Security Grant. <br />3. That a 33% local match is required as a condition of the Port Security <br />Grant, which match will be satisfied by the Asset Forfeiture Funds appropriated by this <br />ordinance. <br />4. That estimated revenues and expenditures in the FY 2019 Grants Fund are <br />increased by $223,060. <br />5. That the balance in the Asset Forfeiture Fund is decreased by $55,765. <br />6. That this ordinance shall take effect on the date of its adoption. <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia at a meeting held <br />on October 23, 2018. <br />Teste: <br />City Clerk <br />
