(h) Constitutional officer, and city council positions are not eligible for annual leave under this section. i The city manager is authorized to promulgate policies and procedures overning the granting and administration of annual leave and the compensation of employees while on leave, and otherwise implementing the provisions of this section 2. That Section 2 -113 of the Code of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia (2006) is hereby amended and reordained as follows. Sec. 2 -113. - Sick leave. (a) Officers and full -time regular employees of the city other than fire suppression employees shall accrue 13.696 hours of sick leave per nay period and fire suppression employees shall accrue 5.536 hours of sick leave ner i pery nay period. No officer or employee shall be entitled to any compensation for unused sick leave, either while still employed or upon termination of employment with the city. (c) Constitutional officer and city council positions are not eligible for sick leave under this section. (d) The city manager is authorized to promulgate policies and procedures governing the granting and administration of sick leave and the compensation of employees while on leave and otherwise implementing the provisions of this section 3. That this ordinance shall take effect on the date of adoption.
