AN ORDINANCE TO ACCEPT $665,031 OF RESIDUAL URBAN FUNDS FROM <br />THE VIRGINIA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION AND TO <br />APPROPRIATE SAID FUNDS TO THE HIGHWAY SAFETY IMPROVEMENTS <br />CATEGORY OF THE FY 2017 CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM <br />BUDGET FOR THE PURPOSE OF FUNDING CERTAIN TRAFFIC PROJECTS. <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br />1. That it hereby accepts $665,031 of residual Urban Funds from the Virginia <br />Department of Transportation (VDOT). <br />2. That $520,320 of said amount is appropriated to Project UPC 108798 <br />(Citywide Systemic Flashing Yellow Arrow Improvements) in the Highway Safety <br />Improvements category of the FY 2017 Capital Improvement Program Budget. <br />3. That $99,300 of said amount is appropriated to Project UPC 108799 <br />(Intersection Improvements at Court Street @ Bart St /Pavilion Drive) in the Highway <br />Safety Improvements category of the FY 2017 Capital Improvement Program Budget. <br />4. That $45,411 of said amount is appropriated to Project UPC 108800 <br />(Systemic Replacement of Non -MUTCD Compliant Signs) in the Highway Safety <br />Improvements category of the FY 2017 Capital Improvement Program Budget. <br />5. That a 2% local match is required by VDOT as a condition of receipt of <br />the residual Urban Funds, and therefore $13,300.62 of City funds previously appropriated <br />to the Traffic Signal Projects category of the FY 2017 Capital Improvement Program <br />Budget is hereby designated as the local match. <br />6. That the estimated amount of the State Funding — VDOT revenue category <br />of the FY 2017 Capital Improvement Fund budget is increased by $665,031. <br />7. That the estimated revenue and expenditures in the Project UPC 108798 <br />(Citywide Systemic Flashing Yellow Arrow Improvements) line item in the Highway <br />Safety Improvements category of the FY 2017 Capital Improvement Program Budget are <br />increased by $520,320. <br />8. That the estimated revenue and expenditures in the Project UPC 108799 <br />(Intersection Improvements at Court Street @ Bart St/Pavilion Drive) in the Highway <br />Safety Improvements category of the FY 2017 Capital Improvement Program Budget are <br />increased by $99,300. <br />9. That the estimated revenue and expenditures in the Project UPC 108800 <br />(Systemic Replacement of Non -MUTCD Compliant Signs) in the Highway Safety <br />Improvements category of the FY 2017 Capital Improvement Program Budget are <br />increased by $45,411. <br />
