2016-~? <br />AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING GRANT FUNDS IN THE AMOUNT OF $65,805 <br />FROM THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE BUREAU OF JUSTICE <br />ASSISTANCE AND APPROPRIATING SAID FUNDS IN THE FY 2017 GRANTS <br />FUND FOR USE BY THE PORTSMOUTH POLICE DEPARTMENT TO <br />PURCHASE BULLETPROOF VESTS FOR POLICE AND SHERIFF <br />PERSONNEL. <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br />1. That it hereby accepts a grant in the amount of $65,805 from the U.S. <br />Department of Justice Bureau of Justice Assistance and appropriates said funds in the FY <br />2017 Grants Fund. <br />2. That the appropriation shall be used by the Portsmouth Police Department <br />to purchase bulletproof vests for police and sheriff personnel. <br />3. That a 50% match is required as a condition of the grant, which match has <br />already been appropriated in the FY 2017 General Fund Budget. <br />4. That estimated revenues and expenditures in the FY 2017 Grants Fund are <br />increased by $65,805. <br />5. That this ordinance shall take effect on the date of its adoption. <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia at a meeting held <br />on October 11, 2016. <br />Teste: <br />City Clerk <br />
