Anew section, designated Section 12-283, is added to the Code of the City of <br />Portsmouth, Virginia (2006) as follows: <br />Sec. 12-283. -Disclosure of ub eauent employment <br />No public emnlovee_. or former public emnlovee having official responsibility for <br />procurement transactions shall accept employment with any bidder offeror or contractor <br />with whom the emnlovee or former emnlovee dealt in an official capacity concerning <br />procurement transactions for a period of one year from the cessation of emPlovrnent by <br />the public body unless.-the emnlovee or former employee provides written notification to <br />the public body. or a public official if designated by the public body or both prior to <br />commencement of employment by that bidder. offeror or contractor <br />35. Anew section, designated Section 12-284, is added to the Code of the City of <br />Portsmouth, Virginia (2006) as follows: <br />ec. 12-284 -Prohibition on olicitation or acceutance of i ts• ift by bidders <br />fferors. contractor or subcontractors prohibited. <br />(al No tiublic emnlovee having official resnonsibility for a procurement transaction shall <br />solicit. demand. accept or agree to accent from a bidder offeror contractor or <br />subcontractor any payment loan subscription advance deposit of money services <br />or anything of more than nominal or minimal value present or promised unless <br />consideration of substantially equal or greater value is exchanged The public body <br />may recover_the value of anything conveyed in violation of this subsection J <br />(bl No bidder. offeror. contractor or subcontractor shall confer upon anv public <br />employee having official responsibility for a procurement transaction any payment <br />loan. subscription. advance. deposit of money services or anything of more than <br />nominal value. present or promised. unless consideration of substantially equal or <br />greater value is exchanged. <br />26 <br />
