<br />AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING $33,081.42 OF FEDERAL ASSET FORFEITURE <br />FUNDS RECEIVED FROM THE UNITED STATES DRUG ENFORCEMENT <br />ADMINISTRATION AND APPROPRIATING SAID AMOUNT IN THE FY 2017 <br />ASSET FORFEITURE FUND FOR USE BY THE SHERIFF'S OFFICE. <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br />1. That it hereby accepts $33,081.42 of Federal Asset Forfeiture funds <br />received from the United States Drug Enforcement Administration and appropriates said <br />amount in the FY 2017 Asset Forfeiture Fund for use by the Sheriff s Office. <br />2. That it authorizes the use of the appropriation by the Sheriff's Office for <br />purposes authorized by the Equitable Sharing Guide published by the United States <br />Department of Justice. <br />3. That the source of the appropriation shall be Asset Forfeiture Funds <br />received by the Sheriff s Office from the United States Drug Enforcement Administration. <br />4. That no local match is required for the funds. <br />5. That estimated revenues and expenditures in the FY 2017 Asset Forfeiture <br />Fund Budget are increased by $33,081.42. <br />6. That this ordinance shall take effect on the date of adoption. <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia at a meeting held <br />on August 9, 2016. <br />Teste: <br />City Clerk <br />
