2 015.- 3 5 <br />AN ORDINANCE (A) ACCEPTING A GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF $118,930 <br />FROM THE LAND AND WATER CONSERVATION FUND AND <br />APPROPRIATING SAID FUNDS IN THE FY 2014-15 GRANTS FUND, (B) <br />APPROPRIATING $118,930 TO BE RECEIVED FROM THE ELIZABETH <br />RIVER PROJECT IN THE FY 2014-15 GRANTS FUND, AND (C) <br />AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF AGREEMENTS FOR THE RECEIPT <br />OF THE GRANT FUNDS AND THE ELIZABETH RIVER PROJECT FUNDS <br />AND THE USE OF SAID FUNDS TO PERFORM IMPROVEMENTS TO <br />PARADISE CREEK NATURE PARK. <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br />1. That it hereby accepts a grant in the amount of $118,930 from the Land <br />and Water Conservation Fund and appropriates said sum in the FY 2014-15 Grants Fund. <br />2. That award of the grant funds is conditioned on a $118,930 match to be <br />provided to the City by Elizabeth River Project. <br />3. That the Council appropriates the $118,930 to be provided by the <br />Elizabeth River Project to the FY 2014-15 Grants Fund. <br />4. That estimated revenues and expenditures in the FY 2014-15 Grants Fund <br />are each increased by $237,860. <br />5. That the funds so appropriated shall be used for improvements to the <br />Paradise Creek Nature Park. <br />6. That the City Manager is authorized to execute a grant agreement and/or <br />such other documents as may be required to receive the grant funds, all in the form <br />required by the Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation, which is the state <br />agency charged with administering Land and Water Conservation Fund grants. <br />7. That the City Manager is authorized to execute a modification or <br />addendum in a form approved by the City Attorney to the existing Amended Agreement <br />for Paradise Creek Nature Park between the City, Elizabeth River Project, and other <br />parties, to memorialize the funding being provided by the Elizabeth River Project and the <br />terms for the funding and construction of the improvements. <br />8. That this ordinance shall take effect on the date of its adoption. <br />
