< ~ ~~ +, r; ,~ ~ 2015-24 .g AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTIONS 7-103, 7-104, 7-105, 7-105.1, 7-131, 7- 132, 7-133, AND 7-135 OF CHAPTER 7 AND APPENDIX A OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, VIRGINIA (2006) TO ESTABLISH OR MODIFY FEES FOR BUILDING PERMITS AND INSPECTIONS. BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: 1. That Section. 7-103 of the Code of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia (2006) be amended to read as follows: Sec. 7-103. Fee for certificate of occupancy and commercial reinspection. (a) The fee for a certificate of occupancy required by the building code for an existing structure shall be as set forth in appendix A to this Code. When a certificate of occupancy is issued pursuant to the satisfactory completion of final inspections pursuant to a building permit issued, no fee shall be required for the certificate of occupancy. (b) The fee for a temporary certificate of occupancy issued by the Building Official before the completion of the work covered by a permit shall be as set forth in appendix A to this Code. (c) The fee for the first renewal of a temporary certificate of occupancy shall be as set forth in appendix A to this Code. No fee shall be charged for subsequent renewals. (d) Before a commercial property is occupied by a new tenant or owner, or by the same tenant or owner, if the property undergoes a change of occupancy as defined by the building code and a building permit is not required, or is vacant for a period of 90 days or more a commercial reinspection including plumbing, mechanical, electrical and building inspections shall be required. The fee for a commercial reinspection shall be as set forth in appendix A to this Code. 2. That Section 7-104 of the Code of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia (2006) be amended to read as follows: Sec. 7-104. Fees for review of construction plans. In addition to the permit fees prescribed in this article, there shall be a fee for the review of construction plans for all matters for which permits are mandated by the building code, including, but not limited to, building permits, electrical permits, plumbing permits and mechanical permits, in accord with the fee schedule set forth in appendix A to this Code for the following categories: (1) New construction and additions to one-family and two-family buildings: a. Under 2,000 square feet.
