~.~ ? ~?`-y 2015 23 <br />AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTIONS 13-71 THROUGH 13-74 OF <br />CHAPTER 13, ADOPT A NEW SECTION 13-75 IN CHAPTER 13, AND AMEND <br />APPENDIX A OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, VIRGINIA <br />(2006) TO ESTABLISH OR MODIFY FEES FOR EMERGENCY RESPONSE <br />SERVICES. <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br />1. That Section 13-71 of the Code of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia (2006) <br />be amended as follows: <br />Sec. 13-71. -Definitions. <br />For purposes of this article, evaluation, treatment, and ambulance transport <br />services shall be as defined and employed by the United States Health Care Financing <br />Administration and any successor thereto. The term "health care facilities" is defined to <br />include, but not be limited to, hospitals, nursing homes, advanced care facilities, <br />psychiatric facilities, out-patient care facilities, minor emergency care centers, <br />physicians' offices or any other facility where licensed or certified health care <br />professionals are routinely present and provide medical treatment for patients. The term <br />"loaded mileage" means the number of miles the patient is transported in the ambulance <br />vehicle. <br />2. That Section 13-72 of the Code of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia (2006) <br />be amended as follows: <br />Sec. 13-72. Fees; responsibility for payment. <br />Payment of all charges for ambulance services, including evaluation, assessment, <br />treatment or ambulance transport, established in this division shall be the responsibility of <br />the patient or the parent, guardian, or other legally responsible party in the case of a <br />minor or an incompetent. <br />3. That Section 13-73 of the Code of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia (2006) <br />be amended as follows: <br />Sec. 13-73. Fees established. <br />The fees for ambulance services, including evaluation, assessment, treatment, and <br />ambulance transport shall be as established in section 13-74. <br />4. That Section 13-74 of the Code of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia (2006) <br />be amended as follows: <br />
