2015-55 <br />AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING A GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF $200,874 <br />FROM THE VIRGINIA DEPARTMENT OF CRIMINAL JUSTICE SERVICES <br />AND REQUIRED LOCAL MATCHING FUNDS OF $73,470 FROM THE <br />PORTSMOUTH PUBLIC SCHOOLS AND APPROPRIATING THE TOTAL <br />AMOUNT OF $274,344 IN THE FY 2015-16 GRANTS FUND FOR USE BY THE <br />PORTSMOUTH POLICE DEPARTMENT IN CONNECTION WITH THE <br />SCHOOL RESOURCE OFFICER PROGRAM. <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br />1. That it hereby accepts a grant in the amount of $200,874 from the Virginia <br />Department of Criminal Justice Services and appropriates said amount in the FY 2015-16 <br />Grants Fund for use by the Portsmouth Police Department in connection with the School <br />Resource Officer program. <br />2. That it hereby accepts required local matching funds in the amount of <br />$73,470 from the Portsmouth Public Schools and appropriates said amount in the FY <br />2015-16 Grants Fund for use by the Portsmouth Police Department in connection with <br />the School Resource Officer program. <br />3. That estimated revenues and expenditures in the FY 2015-16 Grants Fund <br />Budget are increased by $274,344. <br />4. That this ordinance shall take effect on the date of its adoption. <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia at a meeting held <br />on August 25, 2015. <br />Teste: <br />City Clerk <br />
