R-14-26 <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A DEED OF <br />EASEMENT TO VIRGINIA ELECTRIC AND POWER COMPANY, DB/A DOMINION <br />VIRGINIA POWER ON PROPERTY OWNED BY THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH AND <br />HAVING A STREET ADDRESS OF 16 CRAWFORD CIRCLE FOR THE PURPOSE OF <br />INSTALLING AND MAINTAINING SUB-SURFACE ELECTRICAL CABLES. <br />WHEREAS, Virginia Electric and Power Company d/b/a Dominion Virginia Power has <br />requested an easement on certain property owned by the City of Portsmouth and having a street <br />address of 16 Crawford Circle for the purpose of installing sub-surface cables necessary or <br />desirable for the purpose of supplying power to the Downtown Tunnel in case of emergency; and <br />WHEREAS, the easement is necessary for the installation and maintenance of the sub- <br />surface cables; <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia that the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute a Deed of Easement to Virginia <br />Electric and Power Company d/b/a Dominion Virginia Power, and to take all other steps <br />necessary to grant the requested easement. <br />ADOPTED at a meeting of the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia held on <br />September 9, 2014. <br />Teste: <br />City Clerk <br />
