;~f 1~ 201 .8: <br />AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING A GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF $80,433 FROM <br />THE VIRGINIA DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL SERVICES AND <br />APPROPRIATING SAID FUNDS IN THE FY 2014-15 GRANTS FUND FOR USE <br />BY SOCIAL SERVICES CLIENTS TO OBTAIN AND RETAIN EMPLOYMENT. <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia; <br />1. That it hereby accepts a grant in the amount of $80,433 from the Virginia <br />Department of Social Services and appropriates said funds in the FY 2014-15 Grants <br />Fund. <br />2. That the funds shall be used by the Portsmouth Department of Social <br />Services to assist clients in obtaining and retaining employment and securing wage <br />increases. <br />That no local in-kind or cash match is required as a condition of the grant. <br />4. That estimated revenues in the FY 2014-15 Operating Budget and the FY <br />2014-15 Grants Fund are increased by $80,433. <br />5. That this ordinance shall take effect on the date of its adoption. <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia at a meeting held <br />on October 14, 2014. <br />Teste: <br />City Clerk <br />
