~~~Y~~~'~ 2014-75 <br />AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING A GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF $3,479 FROM <br />THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION NATIONAL HIGHWAY <br />TRAFFIC SAFETY ADMINISTRATION THROUGH THE VIRGINIA <br />HIGHWAY- SAFETY OFFICE AND APPROPRIATING SAID FUNDS IN THE <br />FY 2014-15 GRANTS FUND FOR USE BY THE POLICE DEPARTMENT. <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br />1. That it hereby accepts a grant in the amount of $3,479 from the U.S. <br />Department of Transportation National Highway Traffic Safety Administration through <br />the Virginia Highway Safety- Office and appropriates said funds in the FY 2014-15 <br />Grants Fund. <br />2. That the appropriation shall be used by the Police Department for <br />educational and enforcement efforts to reduce excessive speed by motorists. <br />3. That a local match of $1,739.50 is required as a condition of the grant. <br />4. That estimated revenues in the FY 2014-15 Grants Fund and the FY 2014- <br />15 Operating Budget are increased by $3,479. <br />5. That this ordinance shall take effect on the date of its adoption. <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia at a meeting held <br />on September 9, 2014. <br />Teste: <br />City Clerk <br />
