<br />R-12-45 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A LICENSE GRANTING <br />PERMISSION TO THE CITY OF SUFFOLK TO USE A PORTION OF CITY-OWNED PROPERTY <br />FOR CERTAIN PUBLIC FACILITIES. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Portsmouth owns certain tracts of property within the corporate limits of <br />the City of Suffolk ("Suffolk") as part of Portsmouth's watershed and public water supply <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City has previously granted Suffolk a license to locate a wastewater pump station on <br />a portion of our property on Manning Road. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Suffolk needs to use additional property to construct a larger pump station in order to <br />handle increased flows and help prevent overflows in this area. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a larger pump station that will better handle flows and prevent overflows IS <br />advantageous to the City of Portsmouth in protecting our watershed. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Director of Public utilities recommends that Suffolk be granted a revocable license <br />for the construction of the pump station. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia <br />that it hereby authorizes the granting of a revocable license to the City of Suffolk to construct a larger <br />wastewater pump station on Portsmouth's property on Manning Road. <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Acting City Manager or his designee is authorized to <br />execute the appropriate documents granting the revocable license and to take such additional actions as <br />are necessary to accomplish the purpose stated in this resolution. <br /> <br />2012. <br /> <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia at a meeting held on November 13, <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br />
