<br />R-12-26 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION APPOINTING THE HONORABLE KENNETH I. WRIGHT AND <br />CITY MANAGER KENNETH L. CHANDLER TO THE GOVERNING BOARD OF THE <br />TRANSPORTATION DISTRICT COMMISSION OF HAMPTON ROADS. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the composition of the Governing Board of the Transportation District <br />Commission of Hampton Roads (the "Governing Board") has been changed by Section 15.2- <br />4507 of the Code of Virginia, which takes effect July 1,2012; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the new composition of the Governing Board includes a citizen member <br />from each member jurisdiction with voting privileges to be appointed by the Governor, an ex <br />officio member from each member jurisdiction with voting privileges to be appointed by the <br />governing body ofthat member jurisdiction, and an alternate member from each member <br />jurisdiction with voting privileges to serve in the absence of either the citizen member or the ex <br />officio member, to be appointed by the governing body of that member jurisdiction, <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia, that pursuant to Section 15.2-4507 of the Code of Virginia: <br /> <br />1. The Honorable Kenneth 1. Wright, Mayor is hereby appointed as the ex officio member <br />for the City of Portsmouth, and <br /> <br />2. Kenneth L. Chandler, City Manager is hereby appointed as the alternate member for <br />the City of Portsmouth. <br /> <br />3. The appointments shall be effective July 1, 2012, and the appointees shall serve <br />indefinite terms, at the pleasure of City Council. <br /> <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, at a meeting held on June <br />26,2012. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br />
