<br />J <br /> <br />R-12-21 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING TRANSFER OF A 0.161 ACRE PARCEL OF <br />LAND ADJACENT TO THE DOWNTOWN TUNNEL VENTILATION <br />BUILDING TO THE VIRGINIA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION <br />(VDOT) IN EXCHANGE FOR VDOT'S GRANTING A BREAK IN THE <br />LIMITED ACCESS BOUNDARY OF BART STREET ADJACENT TO THE <br />CRAWFORD STREET ROUNDABOUT TO ALLOW FOR THE <br />CONSTRUCTION OF THE NEW COURT ACCESS ROAD. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, in exchange for a 0.161 acre parcel of land adjacent to the <br /> <br />Downtown Tunnel, as shown on the attached Exhibit A, attached hereto and made a part <br /> <br />hereof, the Virginia Department of Transportation will permit a break in the limited <br /> <br />access boundary of Bart Street adjacent to the Crawford Street roundabout to allow for <br /> <br />the construction of an access road to the new courts complex. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of <br /> <br />Portsmouth, Virginia that it hereby authorizes the transfer of 0.161 acres of land, as <br /> <br />described on Exhibit A hereof, to the Virginia Department of Transportation and <br /> <br />authorizes the City Manager to execute such documents as are required to accomplish <br /> <br />said purpose. <br /> <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia at a meeting held <br /> <br />on May 22,2012. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br />
