<br />GRDIN <br /> <br />E <br /> <br />2010,-22 <br />._~~" <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING $1,002,000 FROM THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF <br />ENERGY, AMERICAN RECOVERY AND REINVESTMENT ACT IN ENERGY <br />EFFICIENCY AND CONSERVATION FORMULA BLOCK GRANT FUNDS <br />AND APPROPRIATING SAID FUNDS IN THE FY 2009-2010 ECONOMIC <br />STIMULUS FUND TO BE USED BY THE ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT FOR <br />VARIOUS ENERGY EFFICIENCY AND CONSERVATION PROJECTS <br />INVOL VING CITY GARAGES AND TRAFFIC SIGNALIZATION. <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br /> <br />1. That it hereby accepts $1,002,000 in Energy Efficiency and Conservation <br />Formula Block Grant funds from the u.s. Department of Energy and appropriates said <br />sum in the FY 2009-2010 Economic Stimulus Fund. <br /> <br />2. That said grant funds are awarded under the federal American Recovery <br />and Reinvestment Act, and that no local match funding is required. <br /> <br />3. That the funds will be used to retrofit four city-owned parking garages <br />with energy efficient lighting systems, synchronize the operation of 94 signalized <br />intersections; and replace incandescent traffic signal heads. <br /> <br />4. That revenues in the FY 2009-2010 Economic Stimulus Fund are <br />increased by $1,002,000. <br /> <br />5. That this ordinance shall take effect on the date of its adoption. <br /> <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia at a meeting held <br />on March 23, 2010. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br />
