Jf ., <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE GRANTING UNTO CONSTITUTIONAL OFFICERS AND <br />COUNCIL APPOINTEES A ONE-TIME 3% BONUS PAYMENT, <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br /> <br />1. That whereas, appropriation of sufficient funding to pay 3% one-time bonuses <br />for all city employees, Constitutional Officers, and employees of Constitutional Officers <br />was included as part of an ordinance in the published City Manager's Report for the <br />November 23,2010 Council meeting, as Agenda Item 10-537; and <br /> <br />2. Whereas, the funding that was proposed was from a portion the Undesignated <br />Fund Balance in excess of the City's Fund Balance Policy; and <br /> <br />3. Whereas, the ordinance was amended by City Council so as to make it <br />inapplicable to Constitutional Officers and Council appointees, and the amended <br />ordinance was adopted; <br /> <br />4. Now therefore City Council hereby revises, re-amends, and reordains the prior <br />ordinance by authorizing and directing payment of a one-time 3% bonus to the following <br />personnel: <br /> <br />· Commissioner of the Revenue <br />· Commonwealth's Attorney <br />· Clerk of Circuit Court <br />· General Registrar <br />· Sheriff <br />· Treasurer <br />· City Attorney <br />· City Clerk <br />· City Manager <br /> <br />5. In addition, the one-time 3% bonus will be paid to all city officials who are in <br />grant-funded positions, <br /> <br />6. Except as thus modified, the prior ordinance shall remain in effect as adopted <br />on November 23,2010. <br /> <br />7. This ordinance shall take effect on the date of its adoption, <br /> <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia at a meeting held <br />on December 14,2010. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br />
