<br />tlRmMAMCE 110.201 11:,:,8 ~. <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING A GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF $20,992.82 <br />FROM THE BUREAU OF JUSTICE ASSISTANCE OF THE U.S. DEPARTMENT <br />OF JUSTICE AND APPROPRIATING SAID FUNDS IN THE FY 2010-2011 <br />GRANTS FUND FOR USE BY THE POLICE DEPARTMENT TO PURCHASE <br />BULLETPROOF VESTS. <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia (2006): <br /> <br />1. That it hereby accepts a grant in the amount of $20,992.82 from the <br />Bureau of Justice Assistance ofthe U.S. Department of Justice and appropriates said sum <br />in the FY 2010-2011 Grants Fund. <br /> <br />2. That said funds shall be used to reimburse the City for 50% of the cost of <br />purchasing bulletproof vests for Police Department and Sheriff s Department personnel <br />working on the streets. <br /> <br />3. That estimated revenues in the FY 2009-2010 Grants Fund are increased <br />by $20,992.82. <br /> <br />4. That this ordinance shall take effect on the date of its adoption. <br /> <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia at a meeting held <br />on October 26,2010. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br />
