<br />ORDlAtICE 18. 2 O~;:61~ <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING A GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF $396,270 IN <br />FEDERAL FUNDS FROM THE VIRGINIA DEPARTMENT OF <br />TRANSPORT A TION (VDOT) AND APPROPRIATING SAID FUNDS IN THE FY <br />2010-2011 CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT FUND FOR A SAFE ROUTES TO <br />SCHOOLS PROJECT AT CHURCHLAND ELEMENTARY SCHOOL AND <br />AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT <br />WITH THE VDOT FOR SAID PROJECT. <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br /> <br />1. That it hereby accepts a grant in the amount of $396,270 in federal funds <br />awarded by the Virginia Department of Transportation and appropriates said monies in <br />the FY 2010-2011 Capital Improvement Fund. <br /> <br />2. <br />award. <br /> <br />That no local matching funds are required as a condition of the grant <br /> <br />3. That the grant funds shall be used for a new Safe Routes to Schools capital <br />project at Churchland Elementary School. <br /> <br />4. That estimated revenues in the FY 2010-2011 are increased by $396,270. <br /> <br />5. That the City Manager is authorized to enter into an agreement with the <br />Virginia Department of Transportation concerning the administration and construction of <br />the project and to execute any documents and provide such other assurances concerning <br />the project as he shall deem in the best interest of the City. <br /> <br />6. That this ordinance shall take effect on the date of its adoption. <br /> <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia at a meeting held <br />on July 27,2010. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br />
